A special screening of the film "Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures" at the Krakow Film Festival is one of the events accompanying the exhibition "Stanley Kubrick” at the National Museum in Krakow. The screening and meeting with the director Jan Harlan will take place on Wednesday 28th May at Kino Pod Baranami.
"Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures" is a documentary film presenting the figure of this prominent American director, the author of "The Shining”, "A Clockwork Orange” and many other films that have gone down in the history of the cinema. Jan Harlan, Kubrick’s longtime collaborator, has created a piercing portrait of the artist, which consists of archival recordings, excerpts from his films, conversations with his loved ones, collaborators, critics and colleagues from the industry (including Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese).
The exhibition "Stanley Kubrick” organized by the National Museum in Krakow and Domino Film, in collaboration with Deutsches Filmmuseum and director’s heirs, is presented to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Kubrick’s death. It is composed of over 1000 exhibits, including original scripts, props, costumes, scenography, equipment, stills, posters, letters. The visitors can also watch passages of Kubrick’s most recognised works and short documentaries that present their making of.
To celebrate the exhibition’s 10th anniversary, its Polish organisers have also prepared a wide range of accompanying events, together with festivals and cultural institutions from the entire country, among others, the Krakow Film Festival. The special screening of "Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures" will be take place at Kino Pod Baranami on 28th May at 7:15 PM.
