From 15th till 20th June in Krakow and 7 other cities in Malopolska.
On Saturday 15th June, the 6th International Children’s Film Festivals starts in Krakow and seven other cities in Malopolska. The festival will last till Thursday, 20th June.
The Festival is an annual film event full of screenings, workshops, contests and games for children between 4 and 14 years of age and their custodians. The Main Competition includes live-action and animated, both short and feature films from all over the world that present great artistic and educational values, but because of their low commercial appeal never had the chance to be included in the repertoire of Polish cinemas.
The Competition selection is judged by a professional jury that awards the best films with The Green Frog and prizes that amount to 2000 euros (best feature) and 500 euros (best short). Special awards are also given by the children’s jury and the audiences.
After the screenings, all children are invited to film workshops led by acclaimed direcotrs, actors, filmmakers and animation artists. With the use of professional equipment they explore the other side of the screen and create animations and short films themselves. The audiences also take part in contests, games, parties and other special events prepared specially for each edition – including a nationwide Amateur Film Competition.
Entry to all films and events is free of charge. During the Festival a chosen charity organization is invited to collect voluntary donations for their purposes.
