The celebration of the International Animation Day will take place in several cities in Poland between 27th and 30th October.
International Animation Day is celebrated worldwide on 28th October – screenings of animated films, workshops, exhibitions and seminars take place. The event, commemorating the first public performance of Emile Reynaud’s Theatre Optique in Grevin Museum in Paris in 1892, is coordinated by ASIFA Association (Association Internationale du Film d’Animation).
The celebration of International Animation Day in Poland are held simultaneously in Gdansk, Warsaw, Krakow, Wroclaw, Lodz and Bydgoszcz on 27th – 30th October. The programme includes the most interesting Polish animations of 2011 and 2012 by Zbigniew Czapla, Adela Karczmarek, Alicja Jodko, Marta Pajek, Wiola Sowa and others and animated films from all over the world i.e. Australia, Brasil, France, India, Germany, Russia and USA. The screenings will be accompanied by meetings with filmmakers, lectures, exhibition and multimedia projects. Polish celebrations are coordinated by ASIFA Polska.
