Born in 1966 in Switzerland. He has been a Film professor at the University of Zurich since 1997. His main research interests include documentary filmmaking, Asian cinema, film aesthetics and technology. He regularly works as a film critic and journalist. In 2013, he published a book on narrative and the history of slow motion. He has been a member of the selection committee and presenter of the Critics’ Week at the Locarno Film Festival since 2002 and its chief delegate since 2019. From 2011 to 2019 he served on the programme committee of the Duisburg Film Week.

In 2001, she founded her own production company Algeria Production, which has proven very successful – over 60 creative documentaries it had produced were distributed to countries all over the world. Her style combines observational cinema with poetic elements, where human emotions and feelings are key factors.

She is a cultural manager. She graduated from the Cracow University of Economics and the Koźmiński University in Warsaw. From 2008 to 2015 she worked at the Polish Film Institute, where she headed the Film Culture Dissemination and Promotion Department. She was director of the National Film Archive from 2015 to 2017, and deputy director of the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute from 2017 to 2021, where she supervised the departments responsible for, among others: digitalisation of collections and film education. She graduated from the cinematography department at Łódź Film School (specialization: animation and film special effects), she also studied at the Directing Department of the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. For a few months she was an intern at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels – La Cambre in Brussels. Her filmography includes such films as: Your Own Bullshit (2020), First Time (2016), Cosmos (2016), or Gucio Enchanted (2015). In 2020, she received the Silver Hobby-Horse for best Polish animated film at the 60th Krakow Film Festival.

He was born in 1958 in Poland. He is a composer and pianist and the only Grammy award winner in the history of Polish jazz. He is a graduate of the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the piano class of Barbara Hesse-Bukowska, as well as of the Jazz Department at the Hochschule für Musik in Hamburg. He received his doctorate in 2007 and a postdoctoral degree in 2017 at the Chopin University of Music, where he currently teaches improvisation. He won numerous awards for best jazz and film music. He is also the founder and director of atelier.doc, an independent production organisation focusing primarily on producing documentary and TV films.

An Italian journalist born in France, living and working in Poland. He is a reporter for the Italian daily Il Manifesto and former editor of Krakow Post. He runs the website and film archive Kino Mania, which is entirely dedicated to Polish cinema. His articles and essays on film and visual arts have appeared in several magazines in Italy and abroad (“Cineforum”, “Film International”, “Sentieri Selvaggi”). He has been a member of FIPRESCI since 2013 and was a jury member at several international film festivals.
