Film submission for 57th KFF is now finished

We no longer accept film submissions for international competitions of 57th Krakow Film Festival. Thank you for all your submissions! 

 

As far as the National Competition is concerned, in which the main award is the Golden Hobby Horse, only Polish feature and animated films with a running time not exceeding 30 minutes and documentary films of unlimited length can be submitted until 15 February 2017. 


We are waiting for documentary, animated and short film submissions to four competitions of equal rank – national and three international ones: Short Film Competition, Documentary Competition and DocFilmMusic Competition for music documentary films.

 

Krakow Film Festival is an Oscar® qualifying festival, nominates and recommends films for the European Film Award in short and documentary category. It has received also FIAPF accreditation.

 

The deadlines for submitting films to the selection in the short, documentary and DocFilmMusic competitions:

 

  • for films made prior to 31 October 2016: 30 November 2016
  • for films made after 31 October 2016: 31 January 2017

 

In the Short Film Competition, feature, animated and documentary films with a running time of no more than 30 minutes compete for the Golden Dragon.

 

In the Documentary Competition, participate documentary films with a running time longer than 30 minutes, and the best of them gets the Golden Horn.

 

In the DocFilmMusic Competition, the Golden Heynal award goes to one of documentary music films with a running time of more than 50 minutes.

 

As far as the National Competition is concerned, in which the main award is the Golden Hobby Horse, only Polish feature and animated films with a running time not exceeding 30 minutes and documentary films of unlimited length can be submitted. Out of the films submitted, the selection committee chooses those which will take part in international competitions (they have to meet the requirements set for individual competitions).

 

The films which can participate in the competition are foreign films which were made in 2016 and 2017 that have not been screened publicly before 1 June 2016, and Polish films made in 2016 and 2017. In all three international competitions, a Polish première is required, while an international première is preferred.
