Fire
Poland1975animated8'Retrospektywa Witolda Giersza (2017)
An apocalyptic picture of a forest hit by a natural disaster. First, there is silence, then a slight alarm among animals and the first flames appear followed by increasing panic, collective exodus, creaking boughs, falling trees and the forest fire. And then the rain falls, everything slowly dies away and comes to a standstill. The first signs of the revival of life can be seen on the site of the fire. Golden Capricorn in Teheran (1976) as well as festival awards at Cork, Oberhausen and Poznan, among others.
