Brilliant in its graphic simplicity and anecdotal succinctness, this timeless and universal story, full of discreet humour, is an analysis of a struggle for power in which, of course, the methods applied are not entirely fair-play. The film received the Golden Dragon for an animated film and the Warsaw Siren at the 1st International Short Film Festival in Krakow (1964) and also won awards at other festivals, including Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Montevideo, Oberhausen and Paris.
