In a Japanese village at the Shima Peninsula women perform the roles that are usually ascribed to men in this culture. It is them who go deep under water without any specialist equipment every day. The tradition of female free-diving goes back over 2 thousand years, although today, it is on the decline. The film presents 3 characters of different age who, thanks to their organic and, at the same time, metaphysical contact with the ocean, are able to maintain extraordinary strength and youth.
