The Origin of Trouble

The director turns the camera on her family. Even though she mostly focuses on a complex relationship with her constantly absent father, she shows other members of the family as well. A face-to-face conversation, interspersed with archival materials, allows the director to confront the past and find the eponymous ‘origin of trouble’ and misunderstandings. This film self-therapy of the daughter and the father is becoming the foundation for new, deeper relations which will make it easier to go through the most difficult experiences.
