Dean Reed, a handsome American singer and actor, devoted his life to a communist utopia. The entire world once hummed along to his hits and he acquired special popularity in South America where he became involved in the political activity directed against local dictatorships. A wealth of archival materials reveals a fascinating portrait of the “Red Elvis” who, in the times of the Cold War, employed popular music to communicate a revolutionary message to the world.
