Some study medicine to make money, others to help people – this is what doctor Shinfeld, the protagonist of the film, thinks. Against the pressure of his family, he does not want to carry out surgeries at private hospitals where each procedure is impersonal. Every day, he visits Sederot, a town in the Gaza strip, where he knows each of his patients. His job is not made easier by red alarms, his patients’ everyday problems or the pressure of his family members to make him abandon his “voluntary” work at a public hospital.
