Hieronymus Bosch is a late-middle-age artist whose extraordinary pictures have always evoked extreme reactions among spectators. His works, in which the devil and hell play a significant role, were exhibited at the Noordbrabants Museum in the Dutch town of ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2016. Preparing the exhibition was a challenge for the team of Dutch art historians who, using special appliances and equipment, wanted to find out more about the artist’s intentions.
