Salvation

Gloomy cinema from Iceland where the sacred clashes with the profane, faith with obsession and the echoes of the masters of the genre can be heard in the background. Katrín wakes up at hospital after a serious car accident. She learns that she had a transfusion, which is against her beliefs. In the alien blood that is flowing in her veins now, something dangerous is lurking, which causes physical and mental changes. Obsession is born. Director Thora Hilmarsdottir (who gained experience in, among others, Ridley Scott’s production company RSA Films) made sure that the disturbing atmosphere of Snjólaug Lúðvíksdóttir’s script was enhanced by the photographs of Thor Eliasson who has recently worked in the cinematographic crew of "Pacific Rim Uprising" and, prior to that, on the series "Fangar" and "Trapped".
