Zdzisław Misiak, stage name “Dzidek”, used to work at funfairs. Since his daughter died and son-in-law went to prison, he has been taking care of Hugo, his little grandson. Together, they live in the surreal scenery of a dilapidated funfair in the city centre. This unusual place is almost like a film set which provides the background to their story of family ties. The fairy tale ends when the prose of life enters the scene with demands to “normalise” the boy's situation.
