Gods of Molenbeek
Finland, Belgium, Germany2019documentary73'Fokus na Finlandię (2019)
Molenbeek, one of the poorest districts of Brussels struggling with the reputation of a terrorist nest, is, at the same time, the place of residence of the two six-year-old film characters. Aatos, having Chilean and Finnish roots, and Amine, who is Muslim, come from two different worlds, which does not prevent them from playing blithely together. This image is accompanied by an attempt to understand the current events in the district and find an answer to the most important and the most difficult question: does God really exist or does it only feature in Finnish legends? Or, maybe, only madmen believe in God?
