Kolkata, one of the most densely populated cities in the world, is also inhabited by tens of thousands of stray dogs. The director spent three years shooting the street life of the Indian metropolis as seen by the dogs themselves and a handful of those that helped them to stay alive. While most residents remained indifferent to the dogs’ lives, four eccentric protagonists, also pushed to the margin of the society, made saving animals their life mission and a test of humanity.
