Marcin Polar's film is a journey into the inside of a mountainous cave, somewhere in the High Tatras. A camera accompanies the main protagonist, Jarosław Surmacz, in discovering this mysterious place. The inaccessible cavern, called the “Tough” by its discoverers, is seen from the perspective of a speleologist. The documentary is not a classic account of an expedition: in an impressionistic way it presents extraordinary efforts made by a man deprived of comforts of civilization and directing his curiosity towards the centre of Earth.
