Poland2019fiction30'Konkurs polski (2019)
Jakub Radej, who was awarded at the 2017 Krakow Film Festival for his documentary “Dust”, returns with a fiction film about a family entangled in history, whose production scale is impressive. Everyone becomes embroiled in political events, regardless of their will or decision. No one can escape their consequences. In Poland in 1982, two brothers who are miners represent two different attitudes towards communist oppression. While Janek (Stanisław Linowski) chooses active involvement into democratic opposition, Tadek (Tomasz Schuchardt) wants to remain neutral. The clash is inevitable. Such a situation must lead to the conflict in which it is impossible to precisely balance moral reasons.
