I Love You I Miss You I Hope I See You Before I Die

When you live in the suburbs of Colorado Springs, it is difficult to escape your destiny. Children give birth to children and poverty and vulnerability to addictions have affected consecutive generations. The director is interested in more than just a social diagnosis. She observes three generations of women from up close creating an impressionistic picture of the daily life which also reflects the internal world of the characters. Instead of pronouncing moral judgements, the film portrays, with great insight, existence without any prospects for the future and, despite all odds, finds bright moments in it.
