Maria Is Not Alive

Poland2020fiction29'Konkurs polski (2020)

A story suspended between drama, grotesque, absurd humour and a philosophical treaty in a well-thought out artistic form with black and white photographs and unforgettable music. Maria is dead but she remains alive. She committed suicide, but remains in her live body for a few days. Not knowing how she killed herself, she is looking for the reasons of her own death. She does not remember them. She observes what the world looks like without her, checks on her mother and visits her own apartment. She calls her boyfriend. She finds out how her absence is perceived by her neighbours, unknown people or miracle men. She wanders around searchingly like a soul suddenly disconnected from the body and going in an unknown direction. What now?
