“The prophecy of Saint Ichthys, verse 6.13. Madness will fall upon your world, your eyes will become fogged and fire will devour your land. Your children will be born astride and most of them will die in your women’s wombs. Hunger will eat up your bodies and darkness will eat up your souls and the former and the latter as well as all that I have said will happen if you take what is not yours”. This ominous prophecy begins a story about an angler that must save his community from the end of the world. The film, subtle and apocalyptic, tells a topical story about the bond between Nature and Man and about how easy it is to destroy the delicate balance between these forces. Intriguing and unobvious, the picture is a part of the ecological debate, not without elements of humour.
