The Dress
Poland2020fiction30'Konkurs polski (2020)
A moving, yet very subtle, portrait of a lonely woman with a powerful and convincing performance of Anna Dzieduszycka, an actress who has not been very well-known to a broader audience so far. Does a person who is physically different have to abandon the dream of intimacy with another human being? Julia works at a roadside motel and is overwhelmed by the ubiquitous sense of rejection and loneliness. She dreams of a relationship and intimacy with a man, she wants to be fulfilled as a woman. Unexpectedly, she meets a handsome truck driver and her fantasies start revolving around him. "The Dress" is where the romantic meets the realistic.
