Buromsky Island
Russia2020documentary78'Opowieści ze świata (2021)
The eponymous island, an icebound cold land that not many have heard about, is off the Antarctic coast. For many years it has been investigated by Polar explorers who scarified their family relations or even lives for it, often failing to gain any due recognition. It is them or their relatives that tell us stories about what it was like to live at the end of the world. These unique accounts are accompanied by archival photographs and recordings. A stay on the island was an unforgettable experience that left the explorers with vivid memories until today.
