Poland2015fiction87'Retrospektywa Piotra Dumały (2021)
The second feature film made by the master of animation. ‘I have dreamt about the starting point for the plot: at someone’s home someone is taken for someone else than they really are’ – says the director. As it may happen in dreams, the protagonist’s behaviour is far from any cause and effect logic. Mariusz Bonaszewski plays an art conservator, a character similar to Dumała who had studied art conservation before he became an animator. This surreal comedy and philosophical tale in one also features Dr Character (not only as an off-screen sound) revelling in haggis.
