No Place for You in Our Town
Bulgaria2022documentary85'Międzynarodowy konkurs filmów dokumentalnych (2022)
Pernik in Bulgaria is considered to be the breeding ground for a radical football fan subculture. The director’s hometown was famous for its mining industry under communism. Now, it is past its prime, which gives rise to high levels of frustration and aggression, mostly among young men. From up-close and without prejudice, the film captures the lives of the three protagonists, leaving the final judgement to the viewer. Juxtaposing everyday life with archival materials creates a sense of travelling through time in parallel with entrapment in the reality degraded by History.
