Near and Dear

Isabel and Amelia Cavallini, twins from Buenos Aires, are 91 years old and have devoted their entire lives to music. An enormous Steinway grand piano occupies a central place in their cluttered flat, full of knickknacks. The beautiful and talented sisters once made an exceptional duet and were considered an international attraction. Today, lonely and doomed to each other’s company, they reminisce about their past successes. The sound of archival recordings accompanies the picture of the world fading into oblivion before our very eyes. Apart from beautiful memories, it is filled with unattained dreams, disappointment and remorse.
