Crystal clear water, empty beaches and tall palm trees. This postcard image of the Indonesian island is periodically disturbed by torrential rains and storms, which its only two inhabitants have to deal with. Mudi and his elderly mother are isolated from the rest of the world and very lonely. Their relationship is not an easy one, they are almost constantly at odds with each other. The only joy in the man’s life turns out to be music and dance, which seems to transfer him to a completely different, spiritual dimension. The escape into movement seems to have a soothing effect on his relationship with his mother.
