Henry Glassie: Fieldwork
Ireland2021documentary105'Docs+Science (2022)
In this hypnotising documentary devoted to Henry Glassie, director Pat Collins adopts the perspective of the eminent anthropologist, while the viewer unites with the researcher becoming his eyes and ears. Without any interference, the non-judgemental spectator is trying to understand and protect from oblivion the most transient of human work products – non-material culture. The Irish director, together with his charming protagonist, makes an attempt to answer the question about the nature of beauty.
