Jan Gębski’s camera carefully observes how one of the last remaining heroes of the Warsaw Uprising struggles with the reality. The elderly woman’s closest companion is her cat. Thanks to meticulously planned frames, the animal becomes a fully-fledged protagonist of the film, and we can see their warm relation from the cat’s perspective. Even though the person and the cat do not speak, minute gestures reveal the depth of their connection and everyday rituals become imbued with new meanings.
