The film’s visual layer is based on a set of nearly two hundred photographs taken secretly in several internment camps between May and October 1982 by three authors. The protagonists from the photos, already scattered around the world in 1986, talk about their experiences, martial law, the suppression of Solidarity by the authorities and arrests. Prison-Walled Freedom is Jarmo Jääskeläinen’s most ‘iconographic’ documentary.
