An ambulance crew visits hard-to-reach villages in the Ukrainian Carpathians. The camera captures fairy-tale mountain landscapes, neglected roads and ever-falling snow, illuminated by the ambulance’s ghostly flashing light. Calls vary - some are related to alcohol abuse, which signals a problem but also results in hilarious situations. As the pandemic spreads, however, the situation becomes more serious. In the meantime, life goes on - just like centuries ago, locals meet for weddings, funerals and Sunday service, which Dmytra Hreshko captures with a truly ethnographic flair.
