Larger than life and ahead of her time, Simona Kossak was an eminent biologist and ecologist who lived her life the way she wanted and pursued her passion. Painfully hurt by her family members, she found her refuge in the primeval forest of Białowieża. She felt best when surrounded by wild animals, the focus of her assistance and study. Many years later, her sibling’s granddaughter is following in her footsteps. On the basis of the family reminiscences and abundant archives left by Simona’s partner, a complex portrayal of this remarkable woman is created.
