For a lonely protagonist, her journey from London to Ozerna, a small village in Ukraine, where she is to meet her relative, unexpectedly becomes the beginning of her way to recover and achieve closeness with another human being. Both protagonists meet at a difficult period in their lives – aunt Slawa is 87 and misses her late husband, and Karina, her junior by a few decades, cannot find her place in life. Friendship, which surpasses generations or nations is being born between the two lost women in the Ukrainian village.
