The year is 1957 and the town is preparing for an enemy attack. There are restrictions of civil liberties, controls, a camouflage system and state secrets. Only the enemy has not arrived yet. Ready for inevitable death, the inhabitants are frustrated by the prolonged state of emergency. They need to find a culprit. A parody of an authoritarian state and the ineptitude of those in power with a bitter reflection on the status of the individual in a clash with the system. The humorous and grotesque style of the animation perfectly illustrates the prose of Sławomir Mrożek, the author of the short story that served as an inspiration for Fortress.

He studied at the Faculty of Graphics of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow and obtained his diploma from the Animation Studio of Professor Jerzy Kucia. He collaborated with the Animation Film Studio in Kraków, the British Council and the Ludowy Theatre in Kraków. Later, he set up his own drawing/animation/multimedia studio to create animated films and multimedia.
