Followers. Live Shooting
Poland2022fiction28'Konkurs polski (2022)
How far can Adam, a student of a prestigious high school, go to get the number of his followers up? What can he show live online to attract the largest audience? In Jakub Radej’s film, a Polish school becomes the arena of events that seem unlikely, albeit not impossible, in Poland. Is a Polish student in the time of globalisation, so much different from a student in America, Asia or another European country? All of them are connected to one web and online transmissions break popularity records gathering larger audiences before screens than many popular TV programmes. It should be noted that another short fiction film focusing on a similar topic, Na żywo , has been admitted to the International Competition. Both pictures open up a discussion including tough questions.
