The Children Accuse
Poland1956documentary10'Mistrzowie (2022)
"The children accuse" and "Watch out! Hooligans!" (1957) are the most important films of the “black series” directed by Jerzy Hoffman and Edward Skorzewski. The filmmakers denounce the social plague of alcohol. In the finale, in a strictly documentary sequence, we see the most overwhelming effects of alcoholism – hurt and full of pain faces of children whose parents are drinkers. In accordance with the "black series", the filmmakers make extensive use of commentary and freely combine documentary and fictional themes. Four staged stories are confronted with shots taken in kindergartens, playgrounds and orphanages.
