Judges under pressure
Poland2021documentary87'Panorama polskiego dokumentu (2022)
One of the most important documentaries of recent years, it presents a crisis of democracy after 2015, when the Law and Justice party came to power and, paradoxically, law and justice were undermined. The protagonists are people who rebelled against the destruction of the independent judiciary, especially steadfast judges, with Igor Tuleya among them. We can see them at work, in political fervour, as well as in their private lives. The film is a lively account of not-so-distant reality, which is still highly topical.
