His name must be mentioned in any conversation about animated film. Jerzy Kucia is a film director, pedagogue and a total artist. He has received numerous international awards including the Dragon of Dragons for his contribution to the development of international animation. His films have been screened and awarded at the Krakow Film Festival, beginning with his debut animation "The Return" (1972) to his latest work "Fugue for Cello, Trumpet and Landscape" (2014). Due to his emphasis on visual aspects, he has been dubbed the Bresson of Polish animation. Piotr Dumała, Marta Pajek and Marcin Giżycki, among others, will speak about how Kucia’s art has influenced and inspired them.
