Baldiga - Unlocked Heart
Germany2024documentary90'Międzynarodowy konkurs dokumentalny (2024)
‘My libido will kill me one day’, said Jürgen Baldiga, a young photographer, poet and activist. In the 1980s in West Berlin, he was a co-founder and chronicler of the local LGBT+ culture. The abundant archival materials, including journals, he left behind were used to tell a neurotic story about himself and the community living in the shadow of the AIDS epidemic. Baldiga’s uncompromising, provocative and ‘dirty’ photographs documented the atmosphere of the time when hedonism was also a desperate response to omnipresent fear and a moral stigma. Age rated: 18+
