A staged film parable, it presents in symbolic images a painful diagnosis of Poles' sense of identity in the 1970s. The questions asked in the film from Bełza's ‘Catechism of the Polish Child’ sound shocking in the situations created by Wiszniewski, and the children who answer them leave the final, most important ones unanswered.
