Where Russia Ends

Ukraine2024documentary25'Międzynarodowy konkurs krótkometrażowy (2024)

In the late 1980s, a team of Ukrainian filmmakers went on several film expeditions to remote corners of Siberia. In 2022, during Russia’s on-going invasion of Ukraine, film footage from these journeys, previously unknown, was discovered in Kiev. It is a testimony to the erased istory of numerous imperialistic wars waged by Russia against its later colonies. This valuable discovery becomes a starting point for a film essay on Russian imperialism, environmental destruction and the persecution of native populations in Russian colonies.
