Aha

Poland2024animated8'National Competition

A young man is walking around a Garden of Eden, full of lush vegetation and classical sculptures. With every step, the boy becomes more enchanted by the surrounding nature, but suddenly he falls into a dark hole. This is an ‘aha’ - a hidden boundary of the garden, which is usually a moat or a ditch used in the 17th century in France and later in England. The aha marks the end of the property without blocking the view, so that the garden may blend with its surroundings. The animation uses a garden design term as a metaphor of a clash between the utopian vision of the world and the grey reality, unexpected problems or a reminer that everything has its limits, even if apparently invisible.
