The live broadcast of the Internet Industry Gala will start On Friday, June 5 at 9.00 p.m. CET. During the event we will get to know the first festival winners. The awards will also be given to participants of Doc Lab Poland – the largest program in Poland addressed to documentary filmmakers, that just wrapped its consecutive session as part of the jubilee 60th Krakow Film Festival.
On Friday evening we will meet, among others, the winner of the Krakow Student Award for the best competition film. As every year, also as part of this edition, a group of a dozen or so students of film studies will indicate the best film among all those qualified for festival competitions.
All special and extra-statutory prizes as well as distinctions will be announced. As part of the Polish competition, we will get to know the winners of the Polish Filmmakers Association Award for editing, the Maciej Szumowski Award for special sensitivity to social issues, Awards for the best producer of Polish short and documentary films funded by the Polish Producers Alliance and Awards under the auspices of the Polish Society of Cinematographers for the best cinematography funded by Coloroffon Film and Naima Film.
The Krakow Film Festival is on the exclusive list of recommenders to the European Film Award in the categories of short (feature, animation, documentary) and feature-length documentary film. On Friday evening, we will meet all the candidates nominated by the Jury and the KFF who will get the chance to win the most important European film trophies.
In addition, the winners of the award granted by the FICC, i.e. the International Federation of Film Societies in the short film competition, and the winners of the Jury of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) Award in the documentary competition will be announced.
In the second part of the gala, prizes will be announced for the best emerging projects – animated ones presented at Animated in Poland and documentaries showcased as part of the Doc Lab Poland program for projects that are at the initial development stage Docs to Start and projects at the post-production stage Docs to Go!
The official part will be followed by the legendary Industry Party, this time open to everyone. For the first time DJ Edee Dee will play online for KFF! He is a turntablist, MC, scratcher and producer from Krakow, who has been turning records for the last 20 years. He grew up on hip-hop, old-school electronics, and collaborated with jazzmen. He performed at many music festivals, he also composed music for theater plays. He has been the official DJ of the Krakow Film Festival for many seasons.
Industry Gala and Industry Party will be free and open to the public. The broadcasts will take place at www.krakowfilmfestival.pl and on the festival’s social media.
The celebratory The Awards Ceremony of the Krakow Film Festival, during which we will get to know the winners of the main awards and audience awards, will take place on Saturday, June 6 at 7:00 p.pm. CET. The event will be hosted live by Maciej Stuhr
