Films awarded at KFF to be shown at stop motion animated film festival Stoptrik in Slovenia.
Slovenian city Maribor will host first edition of brand new stop motion animated film festival Stoptrik in the last weekend of August (26th – 28th). Stoptrik IFF will present 52 animated films – i. a. experiments of Władysław Starewicz from the beginning of the XXth century; latest achievements of Se-ma-for Studio; contemporary productions from all around the world (beside of European productions Stoptrik’s programme includes films from USA, Chile or Japan). On Friday (August, 26th) Stoptrik IFF presents first time in Slovenia Jan Švankmajer’s "Little Otik" (2000), special screening of this film is co-organized by Stoptrik, Animateka and Zavod Udarnik. Maribor audience will have a chance to see two retrospectives during Stoptrik – “Slovenian Classics” (Saturday, August 27th), first Slovenian animated films from Triglav Film and “Focus on Poland” (Sunday, August 28th). The latter screening is devoted to contemporary Polish animation and exploration of its different aspects. Beside of music videos made by Monika Kuczyniecka or duo Kijek/Adamski, Sunday’s screening will consist of films appreciated by jurors of Krakow Film Festival – experimental "Monodram" (2007) directed by Przemysław Adamski, awarded with Honorary Diploma on 47. KFF; "Esterhazy" (2009), memorable bunny tale directed by Izabela Plucińska, awarded on 50. KFF and this year’s laureate, "Shivering Trunks" (2010) directed by Natalia Brożyńska. After the Polish selection the organizers kindly invite audience to participate in Polish Banquet patronized by The Embassy of The Republic of Poland.
