Contemporary Russia without censorship is captured in a YouTube kaleidoscope. Complaints and insults, recorded by all kinds of desperate and frustrated individuals, pour out of hundreds of screens. They are addressed to President Putin – hated by some and seen as the providential father of the country steeped in ruin. With time, individual voices come together and the avalanche of rage starts to turn into a civic protest. Is there any hope for overcoming the all-pervading inertia in it? The film title is a reference to the famous novel by Andrei Platonov written in 1930.
