I'll Come to You Tomorrow
Poland2023documentary14'Konkurs polski (2023)
A group of Roma people meet at a bonfire in the evening to say their farewells to one of the senior members of their Tarnów clan. Some of them have not seen each other for many years, others came from abroad for this particular occasion. They reminisce about the past, tell stories about the lives of their families and pray. The film offers a rare opportunity to observe from up close an intimate ritual practiced in another culture. The evening magnifies the contemplative atmosphere, while the snippers of conversations held primarily in Romani make a personal story about the changes in the life of the Roma community in Poland over the years.
