Sounds of music – the bards

Film, music and warm June nights in the open air as every year, Krakow Film Festival invites you to the series “Sounds of Music,” presented by the music journalist Piotr Metz in the open air Kino pod Wawelem.

“Sounds of music” is a section which has become a part of Krakow Film Festival for good and which enjoys unabated popularity among the viewers. This time, in the open air Kino pod Wawelem we will watch documentary and feature films about the legendary bards, who became famous mostly thanks to the lyrics of their songs, but also captivating melodies.

“One of them, Bob Dylan, was recently honoured with the Nobel Prize in Literature! They are as different from each other as an inhabitant of a Communist country and a citizen of the United States or Australia may differ. Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave wrote their songs for a different reason and for a different purpose than Włodzimierz Wysocki and Jacek Kaczmarski. All of them enjoyed and still enjoy the admiration of fans, also thanks to their unconventional lives,” emphasises Krzysztof Gierat, Director of Krakow Film Festival.
